Why is it that when israel defends itself it makes headlines?

Recently a bunch of stupid syrians tryed to rush the israeli border and ran through a mine field which was clearly marked by signs saying DEADLY MINEFIELDS.... anyway 20 killed and it makes headlines while the syrians commit genocide against themselves and obama doesnt intervene... CAN OBAMA PICK AND CHOSE WHICH GENOCIDE TO GET INVOLVED IN!!! or is it just our liberal media commited to destroy the jewish state
