Would college be worth it for me?

I'm a junior in high school and not really sure what i want to do with my life yet. i love roller coasters so I'm thinking i want to make a career out of designing them. So I think I want to go to college for industrial engineering or architecture. After calculating it, I found that if I get into the college I want to (Robert Morris University) i would need 132 credits to get a degree, which is 33 credits a year for four years. Now my mom thinks I just want to go to college to play lacrosse, which i do want to continue lacrosse after high school because i love it, and she doesn't think i would be able to handle college. so my question is, would it be worth going to a college? or would i be better off going to a technical school? BTW I'm like a low B, high C student
