Should I agree for my husband to buy a motorcycle?

My husband is 27 and just got the urge to learn to ride a motorcycle. He already took the written test at DMV and has a permit. He wants to buy a motorcycle but I'm scared that something might happen, especially because he doesn't know how to drive one. I trust that he is a prudent driver but I don't trust other drivers who might not be careful when changing lanes or going in reverse. We have 2 little girls, ages 8 and 5 and don't want him to be involved in a deadly accident and our girls grow up without a father. I know he wants this really bad because he's constantly looking at motorcycles.
