Brain tumour quick urge for check?

How can specialists say on TV that the only way to find out is by an early death or quick brain spread? It should be other ways to find out whether someone is exposed to brain tumour because otherwise is 98% chances that you will never be diagnosed for that and no way to cure it... is brain tumour the deadliest health problem? Please help me understand this. Thanks.
