You should get a manual license if you can afford a manual car. It's actually the automatics licence that is separate. By getting a manual, you can then drive a manual or an automatic car, where as if you get an automatic, you can only drive an automatic. In the future, employers may want to employ someone with a manual licence so they can drive a manual company car.
