Conversion To Hasidic Judaism?

After I get more information, time, and certainty I may try converting to Hasidic Judaism. Before I do that I would like to get a basic overall of what changes I will have to make in my life, what will be better and so on. I currently want to become a Hasidic Jew to give myself and my future children a certain ethnic background since currently I am not entirely sure of my own, also I want to get closer to G_d and learn about him in a different way then I was raised. I always found that Jews seemed to be what I wanted to be, idk why. I just always felt connected whenever I saw a hasidic jew walking down the street or on tv.
