Morris park, staten island, or hoboken?

Hi everyone i am a 22 yr old single female making a move to new York or new jersey. I'm trying to find a nice, relatively safe area to live in. I'm Italian American and I've heard these places have Italian American neighborhoods. Affordability is a plus, I'd like to be close to dining, shopping, clubs. I want to live somewhere I can fit in with the people any suggestions and info about these places would be great thanks
